About Us

What do the four points of the Miss America crown stand for? 

Scholarship: The Miss America Organization is the world’s largest provider of college scholarships for young women. Each year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations make available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance.

Service:  The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs.  Annually, tens of thousands of Miss America volunteers generate more than 500,000 hours of service to over 12,000 community-service projects making Miss America one of the strongest service organizations in the country.

Success:  Developed by the Miss America Organization, the Miss America program exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women and to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community.

Volunteer Staff


Geneva Sibley, Executive Director

Geneva has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and has been employed by the United States Government for the past 20 years.  Geneva is a self-proclaimed pageant junkie and has been a local judge for the Miss Arizona Scholarship Program. She also served as traveling companion to her daughter Audrey during her year as Miss Arizona.


Armando Valles, Business Counsel

Armando graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master's Degree in Industrial (Quality) Engineering. He is the owner of Diversified Enterprises LLC, the parent company for both Dynamic Property Development and Southwest Cargo Systems LLC.  In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, tennis, and basketball.


Deanna Morgan

 

A graduate of Chapman University with a B.A. in Music, Deanna is a California native who works as a reporter for Fox 11 KMSB TV in Tucson.   Before locating to Tucson, Deanna worked as a reporter, producer and anchor for Channel 22 in Hawthorne. In addition, she freelanced as a reporter with XETV FOX 6 in San Diego and Garden Grove Channel 3.  Prior to that, she was a reporter with the Emmy award winning news team, KEYT in Santa Barbara.  While in college, Deanna won the title of MIss City of Orange in 1998 and competed in the Miss California Scholarship Pageant.  After college, she taught Instrumental Music in Orange County and sang professionally.


Emily Call

Emily is a graduate of the University of Arizona where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Theater Education.  She is now employed as a part-time drama teacher at Flowing Wells High School in Tucson.  She is a former local titleholder in the Miss Arizona Program and finished as a Top 10 Semi-Finalist in the 2004 and 2006 Miss Arizona Scholarship Pageants.  In 2005 Emily was awarded the Miss Arizona Non-Finalist Interview Award.  As a 6-time local Quality of Life Award Winner, Emily continues to advocate for depression awareness by volunteering with the Phoenix-based organization notMYkid, and is a recent newlywed!  She and her husband Adam live in Tucson.


Sarah Barrett

Originally from Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Sarah graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a Minor in Dance.  Sarah won the title of Miss Tucson 2003 and placed as a Top 10 Semi-Finalist in the 2003 Miss Arizona Pageant where she also won a Preliminary Talent Award.  She returned to the Miss Arizona stage in 2005 where she won a Preliminary Swimsuit Award and ultimately finished as 4th Runner-Up to Miss Arizona.  Sarah and her husband Brian are the proud parents of their baby girl, Braelynn.
